As our institutions become increasingly more diverse, how are we responding to the challenges involved in integration and support? What are the best practices in promoting equality and the inclusion of all people in order to prevent discrimination and harassment? How can we implement strategies to foster a climate of respect in our organizations? Where are we five years after the introduction of psychological harassment into the provisions of the Labour Standards Act in Quebec? How can financial constraints, performance requirements, and our quest for institutional excellence be reconciled with our aspirations for greater equality of opportunity, more ethical structures, and healthier environments ensuring dignity and respect for each member of our communities? These are some of the questions that the participants in the 25th CAPDHHE Conference will be invited to examine.
Building on our legal frameworks, our knowledge and our experiences, the conference will highlight the importance of sharing our expertise and finding creative tools to promote diversity and reinforce a culture of respect in our respective institutions. The different lectures and workshops will provide possible interventions and strategies that should facilitate the creation, preservation or restoration of an environment conducive to the wellness of the individuals within our institutions.
